Our programming for adults of all ages is designed to stimulate conversation, support and nurture our community, and celebrate our Jewish identity.
We offer ongoing opportunities for lifelong Jewish learning through stimulating, multigenerational programming, connecting our members with our rich tradition, history, politics, and culture include
- Weekly lay-led Torah study sessions preceding our Shabbat morning services.
- The annual Merkur Lectures on equity, civil liberty, and social justice, featuring speakers such as Cindy Blackstock, Noa Mendelsohn Aviv, and James Lockyer, generously sponsored by the Merkur family. Watch the Fourth Annual Merkur Lecture with Dr. Philip Berger.
- The Elka Klein Memorial Lecture Series, generously sponsored by Suzanne Silk Klein & Martin Klein. Watch the 2024 Elka Klein Memorial Lecture with Rabbi Dennis Sasso & Rabbi Sandy Eisenberg Sasso.
- Our Adult Bnai Mitzvah program, a year-long learning journey culminating in a group celebration.
- The Social Justice Scholar-in-Residence program, organized and sponsored by our Social Justice Advocacy Committee. Our 2024/2025 Scholar is Dr. Gary Bloch.

- A guest lecture by Mark Sandler on antisemitism and the difference between protected speech and hate speech
- Our 2024 Elul Series, “Preparing for the High Holy Days: Spiritual Reflections and Personal Growth”
Music and the arts are integral to our experience of Judaism, vibrant expressions of our Jewish identity. Our arts and music programming includes
- Our biannual Celebration of the Arts, featuring ceramics, paintings, sculpture, literature, music, and textile arts by our talented community members
- FUNraising arts events such as our annual Chanukah Market and “Gabs Sings Babs” with Gabi Epstein
- Interfaith events such as our 2024 interfaith and intercultural arts evening celebrating Toronto’s many cultures for World Interfaith Harmony Week
Programs to support our community members include
- HOPE (Honouring Our Parents Effectively) – mutual support for adults caring for ageing parents
- Peace Begins Here – Jewish Mindfulness & Meditation
- Pins & Needles – knitting, crochet, and needlework circle sponsored by our Chesed Committee
- Canadian Blood Services blood drives honouring Aliyah Rotman z”l
