Jay Charendoff
ABOUT Jay
As a young man, Jay discovered that he had a natural ability for design, and then building things with his own hands. At a larger scale, he completed several home renovation projects for himself, and for others. In his career as an Architect, he either produced or dealt with all manner of drawings. However, these graphics were mainly technical, and while interesting, they would not be considered to be “art”.
Several years ago, Jay felt it was time to experiment and explore other arts media including acrylic paint, paper and cardboard, bent wire, rustic wood, and ceramic tile. He has always been a photographer. And, in the past 20 years, he has enjoyed a variety of Summer courses at the School of Fine Arts in Haliburton ranging from music to painting.
These days, he occasionally produces mixed media sculpture, abstract paintings, furniture or a functional household item. He continues to explore new ideas and new materials.
