Susie Blackstien-Adler
ABOUT Susie
As I started to plan for retirement, I gravitated toward glass fusing as a hobby. I am drawn to the beautiful and reflective nature of glass and the opportunity to experiment with colour, depth, and the combination of different glass forms. In addition to conventional fusing, I have experimented with techniques such as glass casting using ready-made and self-made molds, mosaic, creating my own glass and powder migration. Most of my work consists of Judaic pieces and tableware, while I have also created some sculpture and wall art. Though planning is always a part of the process, so is the surprise each time the kiln is opened after firing a project!
