Planet Earth Needs Our Help. On April 26th, our Shabbat service will explore the environmental challenges we face, and how all of us can be part of the solution.
The service will include:
- An environmentally-themed Dvar Torah by our member Janice Keil.
- A post-kiddush panel discussion on What everyone can do to promote a more sustainable (and personally fulfilling) environment. Panellists will be DN members: Janice Keil, Climate Justice Activist and Farmer; Desre Kramer, Master Gardener; and Alan Levine, Founder and Chair of the Canadian Centre for Food and Ecology (https://theccfe.org/).
- Q & A to follow.
- Through this special Shabbat we also honour the legacy of Gloria Boxen z”l, who passed away since the last Earth Day. Gloria led DN’s Shomrei Adamah (Environment) Committee, and championed many green initiatives at DN and across the wider community.
