Join Congregation Darchei Noam as we gather for Tashlich and an opportunity to experience mikvah in a natural setting. As we prepare for the High Holy Days, we'll come together for reflection, renewal, and community by the water. Whether you're familiar with these traditions or exploring them for the first time, all are welcome. The exact meeting location will be shared with registered participants prior to the event. The Social Justice Advocacy Committee (SJAC) is delighted to announce our Social Justice Scholar-in-Residence for the coming year, Jodi Block. Jodi’s early interest in social justice, sparked by the Soviet Jewry movement, led her to study Russian and work with Jewish communities overseas. After relocating to Toronto, she found her calling at JIAS Toronto, a community- and government-funded organization with the mission to welcome and support immigrants and refugees. Jodi's work at JIAS Toronto has spanned over 20 years and various aspects of the agency's work, including community connections, refugee sponsorship, volunteerism, and public education. Jodi is grateful to live in Toronto and to be part of a vibrant, diverse, and engaged Jewish community. As our Scholar, she will deliver her first d’var Torah on Oct. 31. Details to follow.
