Israel
We are connected to israel
We consider Israel central to Judaism, fostering a connection between the Jewish state and our community. We encourage open dialogue where diverse voices are heard and respected.
Ongoing Israel programming includes
- Monthly post-kiddush Israeli dancing sessions
- Kolot Noam singing group
- A monthly Zoom discussion group, “Ma nishma? What’s happening in Israel?“
We are also partnering with the liberal Shirat HaGan congregation in Ramat Gan to provide support and learn from one another.
Israel-related programs we have recently hosted include
- A wine-tasting evening featuring Israeli wines
- Memorial services marking the anniversary of October 7
- A cookbook fundraiser for Kibbutz Be’eri
- “A year of October 7 reflections through Israel cartoon art” featuring Dr. Matt Reingold
- “What foiled the Oslo peace process, and is there hope for a better Israeli-Palestinian future?” featuring Rabbi Maurice Harris
- “Being a Palestinian in a Jewish State: Israel’s Paradoxical Relationship with its Arab Citizens” featuring Sayed Kashua
