Mazal Tov to Rabbi Ryan Leszner
At the conclusion of Shabbat services this past week, our President, Hy Eliasoph, shared the exciting news that Rabbi Ryan Leszner will succeed Rabbi Tina Grimberg when she retires on July 1, 2026.
For the past two and a half years, Rabbi Ryan has served as our Assistant Rabbi and Director of Jewish Living and Learning. Under Rabbi Tina’s mentorship, he has become an integral part of our Rabbinic team, helping to strengthen our multigenerational community through initiatives such as Ark Adventures, Tot Shabbat, Shabbat School, and Shabbat dinners for young adults and families.
Rabbi Ryan’s thoughtful approach to Jewish learning and his ability to translate tradition into meaningful, accessible teaching have enriched our community across generations. He has also provided strategic leadership and strong organizational skills, helping to guide important developments in congregational life.
In his new role, Rabbi Ryan will work closely with Rabbi Aaron Rotenberg and our lay service leaders to plan and lead services, provide pastoral care, officiate at weddings and funerals, and continue developing programs that engage the next generation of our congregation.
Rabbi Tina’s upcoming retirement marks an important transition in the life of our community. As a Reconstructionist synagogue rooted in shared leadership and participation, this moment invites us to continue shaping the future of congregational life together.
We are deeply grateful to the Board, the search and interview committee chaired by Elliott Brodkin, and the many congregants and advisors who contributed their time and insight to this process. Special thanks are also extended to Rabbi Tina for her support and mentorship, and to Rabbi Ryan for his patience and partnership throughout the search.
Please join us in extending a warm Darchei Noam welcome and a heartfelt Mazal Tov to Rabbi Ryan as we look ahead to this exciting new chapter together.
