Our Shabbat morning services, filled with joyous singing accompanied by instruments, moments of contemplative reflection, and insightful divrei Torah (teachings), create a backdrop for life cycle celebrations within our welcoming community. Synaplex Shabbat 📅 Saturday, March 7 | 🕙 10:00 AM |📍Multiple locations at Darchei Noam We will begin together at 10:00 AM with introductory prayers, setting the stage for a meaningful and transformative morning. Then, as we arrive at the Torah service, you get to choose from three meaningful opportunities to experience Torah—each offering a unique lens into Jewish tradition, spirituality, and learning. Synaplex Shabbat – Choose Your Experience This Shabbat morning, our community will gather for Synaplex Shabbat, offering multiple ways to pray, learn, and connect. Select the experience that speaks to you: Option 1: Learners Minyan – Sanctuary Hear the full Torah reading and dive deeper into Torah rituals with Rob Silver and Reb Aaron Rotenberg. This service is ideal for those who want a meaningful, guided exploration of the structure and liturgy of the traditional service. Option 2: Ark Adventures – Social Hall Adults are invited to join our youngest cohort for a lively musical retelling of the parsha. Experience Torah through song, storytelling, and movement in a warm, intergenerational setting. Option 3: Discussion Group – Library Participate in a discussion facilitated by Rabbi Tina Grimberg about choosing Jewish identity through conversion. This course offers an introduction to Israeli archaeology, exploring how material remains reveal the region’s layered histories and cultural complexity. Guided by Amit, participants examine case studies that showcase key archaeological methods, scientific analyses, and interpretive approaches. Join us for a special Refugee Shabbat at Congregation Darchei Noam as we celebrate ten years of welcome, friendship, and community. Together, we will honour the family we welcomed a decade ago and recognize the many members and friends whose compassion and commitment helped refugee families build new lives in Canada. The morning will include an inspiring D’var Torah, a group Aliyah recognizing those who contributed to these efforts, and a joyful service, followed by Kiddush lunch and a special program with reflections on the journey from arrival to belonging. Join us for the Darchei Noam Second Night Passover Seder on Thursday, April 2nd at 6:00 PM. Celebrate Passover with friends, family, and our community in a warm, festive evening full of story, song, and tradition. Tables seat 10 people, so gather your family and friends and join together at one table. Pricing: Children 4 & under are free, children 5–12 are $54, and teens and adults 13+ are $90. Rabbi Tina Grimberg invites you on a special learning journey in “These Are a Few of My Favourite Texts.” In this class, Rabbi Tina will share sacred texts and literary writings from Jewish tradition that have most deeply shaped her rabbinic voice. From ancient Torah wisdom to modern Jewish voices, these are the passages that accompanied Rabbi Tina throughout her career—sources of meaning, challenge, and inspiration. Together, we will discover why these texts continue to resonate, offering enduring wisdom and insight for our own lives.
