Ark Adventures is designed for young children (ages birth to 5) and their families to experience Shabbat in community together. The program is offered on select Saturdays throughout the year. Chatan Torah and Kallat Bereshit: Shabbat October 3 Join us for this special festival Shabbat service as we honour our members, David Last and Sylvia Hunter, as our Chatan Torah and Kallat Bereshit. David and Sylvia will share reflections on their Jewish journeys and what brought them to Darchei Noam. This special celebration is a highlight of our High Holidays season and an opportunity to come together as a community, celebrate our honourees, and hear their stories. All are welcome. Learn More

Israeli Dancing  Please join us toward the end of kiddush in the Social Hall for an hour of Israeli dancing. All are welcome to join us in this fun, community-building activity. Join us to enjoy Israeli music and movement.

Simchat Torah Celebration Join us as we finish reading the Torah and immediately start it again, the only way to celebrate an ending that's really a beginning! Bring the whole family for joyful hakafot, singing, and dancing with the Torah scrolls through the sanctuary and beyond. We'll honour our Chatan Torah and Kallat B'reishit, the community members called up to celebrate the final and first words of the Torah, take in presentations from our Shabbat School students, and journey through the Torah's highlights with Rabbi Leszner, Reb Aaron, and Rob Silver, and of course Kishke, a klezmer band comprised of many Darchei Noam members. The Social Justice Advocacy Committee (SJAC) is delighted to announce our Social Justice Scholar-in-Residence for the coming year, Jodi Block. Jodi’s early interest in social justice, sparked by the Soviet Jewry movement, led her to study Russian and work with Jewish communities overseas. After relocating to Toronto, she found her calling at JIAS Toronto, a community- and government-funded organization with the mission to welcome and support immigrants and refugees. Jodi's work at JIAS Toronto has spanned over 20 years and various aspects of the agency's work, including community connections, refugee sponsorship, volunteerism, and public education. Jodi is grateful to live in Toronto and to be part of a vibrant, diverse, and engaged Jewish community. As our Scholar, she will deliver her first d’var Torah on Oct. 31. Learn More

How about ordering a side of stewed flanken with kasha and bows in your bubbe's tongue? Join us at the dedicated table at Kiddish on the last Shabbos of each month, starting October 31, and learn these delicacies in mame-loshn. Hosted by Robin Gitterman and Gilda Grossman.
